Playing the Wheel
Press Space to initially spin the wheel. Press space 2 more time to stop the 2 wheels from spinning. You can choose to keep your roll and add it to your score with tab or reroll with space. rerolling costs nothing but adding to your score costs 10$. Each time you add to your own score, the house does too. If at any point you have a higher score than the house, the house pays you and you reset scores.

I have no idea which wheel is mine and which wheel is the house's. I feel like there needs to be more indications as to what number represents what information. What is good what is bad, etc...
Hey Ronojoy, nice work with this one. When you explained to me the other day, I was a little confused on how it would end up working with the house playing against you, but it works great. I like that the controls are simple, but I would have maybe appreciated a bit more visual feedback on when the house is "spinning". It felt a bit impossible to catch up once I got behind, and I was unsure if I had a limited number of spins, or just a limited amount of money. Overall though, I think this is really cool, and its fun to see if you can time your stops to get higher numbers even though the whole thing feels rigged (in a good way). Nice work man!
While this is a creative take on the project, it feels a bit counter instinctive that the re-roll does not cost any money as you want to be managing the potential cost. While I'm not telling you to basically make hold'em, but it does feel a bit weird having free rerolls which basically defeats the risk managment aspect.
Whoa this was fun playing. You did a fantastic job with the spinning effect of the wheels and getting them to stop with the space bar. It's all so smooth which makes me want to keep playing it. This definitely seems like a fun casino game to play. Theres just something about wanting to know what numbers you're going to get that's so addicting. Nice job making a unique game and making it look very polished
Hi Ron, this is absolutely hypnotic. I could totally imagine playing something like this at a casino (not that I’ve ever been to a casino lol). I agree with Gen about how the game would benefit with clearer labeling on the numbers, or even maybe just changing the background or UI layout so it’s more distinctly a “me vs. the house” kind of thing rather than two numbers that are side by side, which doesn’t really imply an “opponent” to me. Also, personally, it wasn’t clear at first what the relationship between the two results was - for instance, the way that the numbers are displayed makes it look like instead of 1+3, the number might be 13. Solving this would be pretty easy I think - just displaying a total / final number of what would be added to your score would be enough, imo. I also still don’t really understand how the middle wheel calculates its result, since it doesn’t seem to use the same arrow as the outside wheel (or maybe it does, but it’s just a little off sometimes?). I seem to get 0 a lot on the inner wheel, even when it looks like I’ve landed smack in the middle of a number. Obviously, as people have mentioned, sound would make the experience a lot more compelling as well, but I think that even without it it’s easy to get the vibe you were going for. Really cool & interesting choice of mechanics with the assets we were provided!
Woah Ron that spinning wheel animation is suuuper smooth. Definitely agree with Miles on wishing there were sfx to go with it, but we were limited with the assets we had. I do like the mechanic you decided to go with, but I have a few small nitpicks with the UI. I just personally feel like with the text for the player's score and the house score it should be easy to see which is your own score without having to score already ( so like, just adding "Your Score: 0" etc.) The other small nitpick was mainly my fault because I somehow misread the instructions and didn't know what button added to my score, but I think it would be neat for when the wheel stops spinning for text to pop up and try to entice the player to spin again or add to your score. Maybe that's silly, since this game is like a gambling simulator of sorts, I think it'd fit for it to try and convince the player to keep spending their money. Besides that, you did a good job!
Great Job! The animation of the wheels is super smooth, the mechanics are easy to grasp, and my favorite part has to be that there is no win condition, only a loss condition. Very accurate to roulette and blackjack, the two games that I assume you were inspired by. My one gripe is that I wish there was sound. I think it would be great to hear the wheel turning, and maybe the sound of smooth jazz trying to get me to stay awhile and gamble more. Still, the fundamentals are here and they are done right so good job!
